Over the summer holidays, we've been working in partnership with Lancaster Boxing Club and NMLI (No Man Left Inside) to deliver a series of activities at the Ridge Community Centre aimed at engaging young males and helping to prevent Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in our communities.
The sessions have provided young people with the opportunity to get involved in boxing, keep active, learn new skills and most importantly, spend their time in a positive and supportive environment. 🥊
Our aim wasn't just to prevent ASB - it was also about inspiring and enlightening young people to the opportunities available to them, showing that there is much more to do than spending time hanging around on the streets.
Alongside Physical activity and positive engagement, the sessions also provided an opportunity to talk about respect, responsibility and making positive choices. This included helping young people understand the importance of healthy relationships, treating everyone with dignity, as well as challenging attitudes and behaviour that can contribute to violence against women and girls.
Through positive engagement, we've been able to build relationships, encourage confidence and self-discipline, and hopefully inspire some of those involved to continue pursuing new interests and activities beyond the summer holidays.

We believe that prevention, engagement and giving young people positive opportunities are key to build safer, stronger communities.
There's always something better to do! Sometimes young people just need someone to show them what's out there.
